Glitter Pumps!

Would you believe me if I said I didn't own a pair of glittery heels prior to yesterday?? It's not that I didn't want a pair...I just kind of found them impractical? All the glitter ones I usually found were silver. or gold. or hot pink....I don't go... "out" ... so I didn't neeeed them. And I don't get to wear dresses/skirts to work...  so I stopped buying those years ago. But...I also haven't jumped on the heavy accessories fashion bandwagon either... I don't wear bangle bracelets, or chunky or long necklaces, and I very rarely wear a belt anywhere other than in my pants with belt loops. LOL So I gotta keep my shoes fun! I ran into JCPenney yesterday because Justin usually has good luck with shirts & jeans there and I needed to pick him up a few after a day of shopping for myself. haha! I was actually kind of looking for a heel I could wear with navy or brown slacks tho as opposed to black... But I saw these on the rack for 15 bucks and could. not. help myself. They've got a hidden platform and are ridiculously easy to walk in for the height... I don't own anything like them....and they glitter in them is like... chromatic...it changes all sorts of colors depending on the angle of the light hitting them. The overall look is black with black glitter...but the specks of colored glitter are spectacular! I can totally wear these with my navy slacks too! (wearing them with gray slacks today...with this top from express in nautical blue!...you know, just like the picture, but in like 3 sizes bigger haha) Weee! I'd take a picture, but I'm far from a fashionista... You can find much better bloggers for that. But for $15? These can't help but brighten your day!

New shoes.

They say you can never really have too many pairs of black heels. I totally agree. With the fall approaching, and the fact that my peep toes were pretty much just wore out, I'd been wearing a pair to work that looked like this, but with a slightly smaller heel, by Mossimo. The below are Franco Fortini from Rack Room Shoes.

Well, I went out to Macy's a couple of weeks ago when they were having that huge 2 day sale, I had $50 on a gift card and a $10 off my purchase coupon, and the store was a MESS. I was looking for a few things in particular. A new basic black pump, a brown every day boot similar to the Dr. Martens my husband wears religiously, and and new dressy black boot to replace my 7yr old ones that have pretty much had their run. I couldn't bring myself to buy a single thing. So I walked over to Rack Room just...looking for something...anything that might work for me. And I found these by Xappeal:

Paid a whopping $19.48 for them. And they. are. perfect. They're easy to walk in, the perfect height, the perfect shape. I just love them.

And well, I drive. I drive a lot. I love driving. And it RUINS my shoes. Yes, I've brought flats to wear just to drive in, and that worked for like a week, but then it was just becoming a hassle and I gave up. So I don't spend too much on shoes anymore. Not basic ones. Nope.

When I got back to work that day, I went online to Macy's and ordered these boots, since they were nowhere to be found in the store.
Cheaper than Dr. Martens and I was ok with ordering these online. Docs are like...impossible to find in women's sizes instore. Not even at my local journey's. Boo on that. But I saved like $50 buy buying these anyway and I like em better!

If you've got any similar stories about shoes, feel free to share :)

Price Means Nadda

I just want you all to know that my $14 heels from Ross are more comfy than my pink Jessica Simpsons. Seriously. And my $14 ones are some of the highest I own. I wore my pink Jessica Simpson heels to a lunch thingy celebrating one of my suppliers - and standing up after 30 minutes was killing my feet. So lesson learned - walk around in my shoes ALOT before buying them, cause just 'cause im getting them at Macy's instead of Ross, it means nothing as far as comfort goes.

sometimes i dont know why i even buy cute heels - because i look like this at work:

and if im wearing a hard hat and safety glasses- i better not have on open toed shoes. ya know?

I do love my Michael Kors

Ok so after my birthday i kinda sorta blogged a link to the shoes i wanted and got for my birthday. I just dont think that link did the shoes justice, i really dont. I may have also noted i didnt know what to wear with them...and ive since bought a few new pieces of clothing for my closet. haha! i bought some not quite skinny pant, but more like straight legged, look like dark denim, but totally arent cause it's much thinner fabric pants and a mustard yellow fitted short sleeved sweater, and some linen khakis, and ivory fitted short sleeved sweater, and they look great with both outfits. sorry i dont have pics of those. im not a real big fashionista, i just love shoes! And here's my current favorite pair:

America is Phat

Everyone always asks me HOW in the world I walk in these shoes. I don't know, I just do. I love these shoes. They are my favorite bargain pair of shoes ever. They are by Joey O. And I got them at Ross for $14.99. In case you were wondering. But that was last year, and i know they dont have them anymore, so I dont know what else to tell you. Feel free to make fun of my toes. Justin does, I'm used to it. I make fun of the too. Thank you biological father for nothin! HA! Anyway - I dont know how i walk in them either. It's fairly easy on carpet. I get a little nervous on hard flooring. But I can make it down the stairs. If my clumsy butt can make it down the stairs in these shoes...I dont know why other people can't make it down the stairs in shoes that look nothing like these. Oh wait! It's called laziness! Today, I carried a box up the stairs in these shoes, while two perfectly capable folks carried nothing but a cup from a fast food place through the doors of our elevator to go up a single story. Hence, America is considered a very fat country. Fat and lazy. (Seriously, google America Fattest Nation) Except these people I'm talking about weren't fat...just lazy apparently. But I see it every day. And some of the people are quite large, and should be taking the stairs. And I feel sorry for some of them, cause I have a large grandma and listen to her about her weight and back problems, but I don't feel real bad when you just keep eating fast food and taking elevators. Call it rude, whatev, it's totally true. And I watch it on TV all the time on Discovery Health because that channel hypnotizes me! HYPNOTIZES ME!!! But I dont really know anyone 1000lbs or even 600lbs and I cant even imagine that, but i still dont understand what drives these people to put on that much weight. And I hope I dont ever have to experience that first hand with myself or my grandma or anyone else in my family, cause it looks really sad. Sometimes I cry. No joke. But I still love you America. Thank you for discovery health and cable tv. I wonder if those shows make a difference to people tho? Like, I mean, I watch them, and think, holy. crap. I'ma go eat some veggies and hit the gym, a.k.a my living room and my wii, which is better than nothin thank you. But I did see a story on my dvr last week, where one woman had seen another man's story and it drove her to help herself, and that was pretty neat. Oh oh, and then there's the Biggest Loser. Show totally makes me cry. But i guarantee you they've helped a ton of people! oh! and then there's that one show..um..Inside BrookHaven Obesity Clinic. This show makes me mad sometimes. Cause there's people on there that are there because their weight is really life threatening and they know it, but then they dont follow their diet and excercise plans and eventually have to be kicked out cause insurance won't pay for it. It's sad too! And i dont mean any of this rudely (except the people i saw at work this morning, cause that's just irritating), but i dont mean any of it else rudely. I'm mesmerized really. Mesmerized. But I'm easily mesmerized. Lol Hence...i ramble alot. My bad. Didn't mean to write SO much, but there's no point in deleting in now. pft

Oh! And to further give meaning to my blog tag Whats Wrong With the World - yesterday, my neighborhood, truck broken into - GPS and gun stolen. This morning, my bff's co-worker - kidnapped and taken to ATM to pull money out of bank account. WTF PEOPLE. Work for you OWN CHIT! YOU LAZY MOFOS.

Learning the Ropes

Yes, I'm blogging again today. Which will not be common. I swear. Since the blog is new, it looked naked, and so i think it needs some substance. And i think i finished fiddling with the layout. Added another pic to the sidebar, added some cool links, and figured out wtf RSS feeds were. So i'm going to post a couple pics so I know I know how, but i promise i'll make them relevant, k?

These are my newest pair of cheap shoes. They're black. and silver. Well, they're a dark metallic gray, but i pretty much classify anything that's gray and metallic, (whether it's light or dark), I just call it silver. I got them at Ross. For 14.99. I didn't really need another black pair of heels, because i think i have too many pairs of black heels. But can you really actually have too many pairs of black heels? no.

My desk at work is a mess. But i was trying out this new camera lens before i bought it, and I had it at my desk. I made this mustang model look like my car back in the day. It doesnt look like this anymore. It's got a different hood and new wheels and alot more power.

There.

Now i'm going to go see if i can run through my dvr and fast forward through So You Think You Can Dance and find out who gets booted off.

PS - im glad i tried to post pics now, because i totally got an error the first time i hit publish.
